HOLLYWOOD actor Brad Pitt has been shooting his latest film in Sandwich.

The former Pfizer site was said to be the location chosen for some of the scenes for the zombie flick World War Z.

The cast and crew were filming in the old chemical laboratories to complete the film for release next year.

The post-apocalyptic horror is based on a novel by Max Brooks and is being shot by Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment.

Filming equipment was clearly visible at the site last week with security guards standing by to stop any trespassers.

A spokesman for the old Pfizer site, now known as Discovery Park, confirmed the site had been privately hired.

She said: "We can confirm that a private hire of Discovery Park has been undertaken but unfortunately we are unable to release details of the exact nature of the hire."

Kent was a popular choice for the film, as it was initially meant to be shot at an old supermarket site in Tunbridge Wells but was abandoned when the news of Pitt's visit was leaked.

The film set was moved to Glasgow instead.

According to a source connected with the film crew, the Fight Club star spent the weekend of October 26 at Pfizer.

People on Twitter were excited following reports that Pitt had been to watch the new Bond movie, Skyfall, at the Vue cinema in Westwood Cross, Thanet, on Sunday.
